A Healthy Work-Life Balance

A Healthy work-life balance.

As we are moving into our busy season for the painting industry, I wanted to highlight the importance of having a healthy work-life balance and a few strategies for maintaining it.

Ever feel like you do not have enough time in a day to get everything done that’s needs completing?

Time poverty has a crushing effect on our happiness, social relationships, and our physical health. Time poverty depletes our sense of well-being. Data suggests time poverty is from an obsession with work and making money. The solution for time poverty is simple. Make more decisions that allow you to have more free time. Thus, time is our most valuable resource.

We have to prioritize time for time rather than prioritizing money. If time is money, then we should be concerned about how we spend it. If you want to be time rich, then prioritize time over money. At the end of the day all we have is time, so prioritize & cherish it because working hard does not give us back moments with our families and friends or more hours to ourselves. Therefore, more free time will help us escape the stress traps of everyday life.

Be as careful with our time as we are with our money.

· Set boundaries for yourself.

· Do not work during off hours.

· Take a look at the bigger picture. Accept that some days will be better than others.

Most of us fall into the trap of spending time to get money because we believe money will make us happier in the long run. Time Yields happiness. Spend more time experiencing awe. Awe is a positive emotion we feel when encountering something vast and expansive, like a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. “Surf more and worry less.”

Lastly, take all your paid vacations. If you have a paid vacation, then make some plans and use it! Honor Roll Painting provides employees with paid vacation & sick leave.

Happy painting-
